Kevin Ollie has been consumed by athletics from a very
young age. Under the influences of both his parents who
were both in the field of education; Kevin was highly
encouraged and almost compelled to always put education
at the forefront of his daily academic agenda.
Kevin Ollie moved to Los Angeles, California with his
mother, Dorothy from the state of Texas at a very young
age. Kevin maintained academic excellence and was a scholar
throughout his educational endeavor. He was a National
Top 100 Basketball recruit and played for the legendary
coach Willie West at Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles,
CA. He graduated with honors from Crenshaw High in 1991.
Crenshaw High is the same school that produced former
star NBA players like Marques Johnson, Darwin Cook, and
former baseball’s Darryl Strawberry. Kevin received
a four year Basketball Scholarship upon graduation from
Crenshaw High School and elected to attend the University
Of Connecticut (UCONN), where he played his college ball.
He graduated from UCONN with honors in 1995.
Kevin Ollie plays the point guard position for the NBA
Basketball team, the Timberwolves. He has made Outstanding
Contributions to The Youth Sports Movement throughout
the country and maintains a very strong passion to inspire
and mentor youth into taking a positive, resilient dream-making
path to success.
Kevin Ollie remembers, and still holds high respect and
esteem for his childhood mentor, Al Birdsong, who was
instrumental in inspiring him as a young man and throughout
his sports career. Al Birdsong is the Founder/President
of BHSBPA - the Better High School Basketball Players
Association, in Los Angeles, California.
Kevin and his wife Stephanie have a son Jalen and a daughter
Cheyenne. He is a loving spiritual brother, husband and
father. He is the cousin to Arnaz Battle, a wide receiver
with the San Francisco 49ers.
Kevin’s hobby and passion during the off season
months of his professional career are playing golf, mentoring,
providing and supporting social programs/causes for the
youth.
Kevin also hosts and supports Summer Basketball Camps in Glastonbury CT. and his home town Dallas, Texas. |
